Getting started with Meeting Points

What does it do?

The meeting point endpoint allows you to set the location where your driver will meet the customer. We use the information you provide to build localised pickup instructions shown to the customer.

For Example:

  1. After passport control and baggage claim, make your way to {location}.
  2. Head to {meeting point name}, on floor {building level}.
  3. Look out for your driver, who will be holding a sign with your name on it.

Providing the name of the meeting point and location is our preferred approach, as it allows us to translate the surrounding text into all supported languages. However, if you're only able to share free text pickup instructions then we will accept this.

Tip

Keep free text instructions concise and specific to the booking's location, rather than sending a list of instructions for every terminal at an airport. There is a 1000 character limit to preserve customer experience.

We also capture meeting point GPS coordinates, which allows the location to be plotted on a map so the customer and driver can find each other more easily.

When to send it

The data should be provided as soon as possible after booking, and at least 24 hours prior to the pickup time, so that pickup instructions can be included in the journey reminder email.

Why use it?

Customers rank "being able to easily find the driver" as one of the most important factors — use this feature to improve quality of service and receive more bookings.
